Beldon Beauty, aesthetics and wellness without miracles

Teresa de Miguel Miró

In EXPANSIÓN by Montse F. Frías

Its founder, Teresa de Miguel Miró, advocates for a long-lived lifestyle based on things as diverse as avoiding toxic relationships, making food our medicine, or being autonomous—even lifting our own suitcase onto the AVE train by ourselves. From her beauty centers in the capital, she is changing the rules of the game.

If there is one thing that characterizes Teresa de Miguel Miró, founder of Beldon Beauty, it is her honesty and her capacity for entrepreneurship. From all the professional stages she has navigated throughout her life, not always related to well-being, she has gathered lessons that she later puts to use. Although she wanted to be a doctor, she began her journey as an in-house lawyer at companies and in the Community of Madrid, helping others to start businesses, which helped her set up a business of her own.

MyLittleMomó, a pioneering brand in transforming a simple treatment like a manicure into an experience of care and well-being, was her first foray as a freelancer.

"I didn't invent anything new here, but I can be proud of having changed the rules of the game," she asserts.

And she adds: "In this sector, what was missing was for the person who comes in not just to get the treatment, but also something more experiential—a special and pleasant moment where they can manage to forget all their problems."

Her line of body treatments acts not only on aesthetics but also on the internal perception of well-being.

Now, from her vantage point on Calle Alcalá in Madrid, she manages 35 people in three specialized centers, each designed to provide unique experiences. Beldon Beauty, Wellness, and Medical, located in different parts of the capital, advocate for a "cult of beauty from within," based on principles such as personalization, commitment, and self-improvement.

For those who need advanced aesthetic treatments but with a holistic approach, Beldon Beauty at Lagasca, 9, is their space. Here, diagnostics and personalized protocols guarantee good results.

For those looking for total disconnection, at least for a few hours, Beldon Wellness, located inside the BLESS Hotel Madrid on Calle Velázquez, is ideal. Massages, circuits, and relaxation programs make it a refuge, away from the noise and the fast-paced nature of urban life. And Beldon Medical, on Calle del Conde de Aranda, 14, where experts in aesthetic medicine and nutrition design tailored plans to address skin issues, longevity, or comprehensive well-being.

"When we opened in 2017, there was a lot of supply, but I missed the personalization. As a client, I had visited many establishments, and nobody asked me anything, nor did anyone perform a diagnosis. People were looking for immediate results, the 'bikini body' rush, a new device, a new diet... There was no talk of changing one's lifestyle. And Beldon arises from that," confirms the founder.

QUESTION: Is the philosophy you have incorporated into Beldon that ‘miracles do not exist’?

ANSWER: Of course they don't exist. There is no product or miraculous machine. That said, they help, but for it to work, you have to be very consistent. As you get older, the difference is made by the lifestyle you lead and the habits you have. What one does after the treatment, at home and with effort, is important. For five days a week, you have to be quite strict with your lifestyle, and then, on the weekend, you can be a bit more permissive, because you also have to enjoy yourself.

Q: What are you looking for with that new lifestyle?

A: I always tell my team that we are a storydoing company and that we must help people put it into practice. Of course, you don't go home with the client... Even before exercise, the first thing we must do is value ourselves and speak well to ourselves. Something as simple as loving ourselves. If there is something beautiful about beauty, it is that we are different; that is the charm. It is also key to avoid toxic relationships. We have to push away everything that doesn't empower us and stay by the side of the people who bring out the best in us. Of course, I recommend making food our medicine. And what can I say about exercise? I am not the person who can set the best example in this regard, but I believe that physical activity brings us health.

People start to age when they stop jumping, for example. Impact exercise is excellent, especially for us. I would also add proper sleep hygiene.

Q: What is your opinion on the discussion of anti-aging treatments or products?

A: Aging is healthy, and how we do it is the only thing we can control. I don't usually talk about anti-aging. I prefer the term 'long-lived lifestyle.' It is true that we can decide to age better or worse. As I mentioned before, depending on what we decide to do with our lifestyle, that is how we will reach old age, but the good thing is to age and do it well, being able to be autonomous—for example, putting the suitcase on the AVE train without help or tying our own shoelaces. I think people are increasingly aware, and I love that there are so many brands and companies spreading that lifestyle.

Q: What advice do you give us for caring for our skin during these summer months?

A: Above all, value ourselves—that is, to be able to stand in front of the mirror and say, "I love myself because my longest relationship will be with myself." And then try to work, without obsessing, on those areas or zones that we have for improvement because after the whole winter with the little coat on... It is also good to focus on nutrition, what we eat every day, and perhaps, increase exercise a little.

Q: Where will you spend your vacation?

A: I will spend it, in part, in Cantabria, as I do every year, with my husband and my children, a girl and a boy, aged 11 and 8, who are my best project, my favorite people, and my safe place.
